Teas! Yes, it is good for you in moderation. Tea of ANY sort- particularly herbal- is a fierce diuretic and therefore extremely drying. I promise you, the more “lemon zinger” you drink, the dryer you will get. That ginger tea or garlic tea that you make from the actual roots and cloves will do the same. Try a LITTLE bit of something that has slippery elm and licorice root. This should not be in place of water, but instead to soothe the throat.

Diuretics- diet pills that are not doctor prescribed
Asparagus {diuretic}
Cough drops with menthol (Any kind of mint is dehydrating)
Licorice {can be drying though very therapeutic for a sore throat}
Alcohol-- the histamines in red wine can be bothersome {and actually 20-200% higher in red wine- consider white if you must!} as well as the drying effect of the alcohol itself. If you’re sick- just skip it altogether.
